Fuselier Lab

About

We are a lab group with two foci, postsecondary biology education and plant ecology, with a focus on bryophytes.  Our Discipline-Based Education Research (DBER) has included studies of the understanding of sexual selection and genetics.  Bryophyte ecology research is currently focused on community structure of propagule banks and plants at cave entrances.

Key Research Areas

  • Postsecondary biology education
  • Teaching sexual selection, urban ecology and environmental justice
  • Bryophyte ecology and evolution

Current Projects

  • Faculty participation in a DBER experience embedded in the neoliberal university
  • Department fit and adoption of evidence-based steaching practices for tenure-track and non-tenure-track instructors
  • Bryophyte communities at cave entrances
  • Endophytes in liverworts
